Parents of students at Charles H. Hulse Public School unleashed their frustrations on Tuesday night.

The first meeting between parents and officials from the Ottawa Carleton District School Board took place at Ridgemont High School, right beside Charles H. Hulse. Parents didn't hold back.

"How can we trust you...on anything?" asked one parent. Chaos reigned as questions were hurled at representaives from OCDSB, Ottawa Public Health and Health Canada.

Parents are concerned about their children's health after the pesticide Propoxur was sprayed in the elementary school on April 11. Much of the debate and questions was about the chemicals that were used and how the school board could let it happen.

Norah Marsh, Associate Director of Education for the OCDSB, reiterated to the crowd that the pesticide used by Rentokil in the school was not the one approved by the board.

Students are being bussed to Parkwood Hills Public School while renovations are done at Charles H. Hulse. Flooring, dry wall and cabinets are all being replaced.

The board is hoping to have the school reopened by May 11. Depending on how long the renovations take, it could be as late as May 19th.
