All News Radio 1310 hits Ottawa airwaves next Monday.

Rogers Broadcasting made the announcement on Tuesday, saying it will offer news radio 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

"We're delighted to have the opportunity to deliver comprehensive 24/7 news coverage to the residents of Ottawa and the Valley," says local manager Scott Parsons.

A news release says the station will offer news, traffic, weather, sports, business, and entertainment. It promises to be online as well.

Rogers radio news stations already exist in other cities like Vancouver and Halifax.

The other big AM news station in Ottawa is 580 CFRA. It operates under a news talk format where listeners call in.
