A man accused of carjacking the widow of a murdered Ottawa police officer wants his charges stayed, claiming he was
"roughed up" by police when he was arrested.

Kevin Ransdell—who has a long criminal record—is accused of robbing and carjacking Anna Korutowska at knifepoint last summer in the city's south end.

Korutowska's husband, Ottawa police constable Eric Czapnik, was stabbed to death while sitting in his cruiser on Dec. 27, 2009. Former RCMP officer Kevin Gregson is charged in his murder.
