    What is HD-TV?

High Definition is a digital broadcast signal with more lines of resolution than analog Standard Definition (1080i compared to 480i). HD-TV is also broadcast in a different aspect ratio, giving you a wider image (16:9 compared to 4:3). HD-TV also sounds different, with audio in either Dolby Digital stereo or Dolby Digital 5.1.

What does this mean to you, and what about CTV Ottawa?

CTV Ottawa HD is available through Rogers on channel 518 and Vidéotron on channel 607, and we will continue to update you once other cable and satellite providers are carrying our HD signal.

As of August 31st 2011 CTV Ottawa broadcasts HD over-the-air (OTA) in Ottawa on Digital Channel 13.1.

If you're not yet into HD-TV, don't worry. CTV will continue to broadcast our Standard Definition signal here in Ottawa on Rogers Cable channel 7, OTA channels 6, 8, and 47 (depending on where you live), Bell TV 229 and Shaw TV 311, or simply check with the local cable provider in your area.
