Shaun Vardon

Shaun was born and raised in Ottawa, his family has been in the capital since the 1840’s. Shaun grew up in Bell’s Corners and Barrhaven and he graduated from Bell High School. He went to Carleton University earning a history degree then and then attended Algonquin College’s Broadcasting program. Shaun has been involved in the community for decades, volunteering and working with organizations like Operation Come Home, CHEO and the Ottawa Senators Foundation.
Shaun started his career in TV broadcasting with the Ottawa Senators and freelanced with the CTV National News Bureau covering national politics. He started at CTV Ottawa in 2008 as an ENG camera operator then worked in various rolls before joining our on-air team in 2020. Now living in Mountain, just south of the Capital, he enjoys the county life with his field bread Springer Spaniels. A bit of a handyman, when not chasing stories, you can find him working on his house and looking after his gardens. Between all of that he’s also a runner, Shaun tries to hit the pavement three times a week and is known to enjoy a good pickleball game.
