Peter Angione is Director of News & Information Programming for Bell Media Ottawa. An award-winning journalist, Peter has more than 25-years experience in television and radio – working at television stations across the country.

Peter is responsible for news and information programming on Ottawa’s top-rated CTV News, CTVNewsOttawa.ca & Newstalk 580 CFRA. He has overall responsibility for all newsgathering for television, radio, digital & social media at Bell Media Ottawa. Peter is responsible for CTV Morning Live Ottawa, CTV News at Noon, CTV News at Five, CTV News at Six & CTV News at 11:30pm. In addition to television, Peter manages Newstalk 580 CFRA’s talk shows, breaking news coverage and special live radio programming. Peter also oversees the station’s digital and social media platforms.

Under Peter’s leadership, CTV News remains Ottawa’s #1 newscast and is routinely honored by the industry's most coveted radio and television awards. In 2018, CTV Ottawa received the “Bert Cannings” regional award for Best TV Newscast in a large market by Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTDNA) Canada. The station's numerous RTDNA awards include “Spot News”, “Short Feature”, “Long Feature”, “Sports”, “Creative use of Video” and “Digital” reporting.

Peter is a past recipient of the Radio-Television Digital News Association Canada Distinguished Service Award. This award honors a member who has played a major role in the continuing success of RTDNA Canada. Angione was conference chair with RTDNA (Radio-Television Digital News Association) for five years and sponsorship chair for the organization.

Prior to this role, Peter was News Director for CTV Ottawa from 2010-2014 and News Director for A-Channel Ottawa (now CTV Two) from 2004-2010. He has also worked as a Senior Producer, Reporter & Anchor at stations across the country.

Born in Nova Scotia, Peter attended the University of Kings College and Dalhousie University in Halifax where he began his television career there as a reporter. Peter now calls Ottawa home where he lives with his wife and two daughters, Hannah & Ava.
