An Ottawa man is facing several charges related to a violent sexual assault inside a west Ottawa apartment on Thursday.
Ottawa police said 55-year-old Marc Leduc is accused of breaking into a 19-year-old’s unit on Elmira Drive and sexually assaulting her while armed with a knife.
The teen was able to fight back (leaving Leduc with serious injuries), free herself and run down the hall and get help.
Leduc, who was arrested shortly after the incident, is charged with:
- Sexual assault with a weapon
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault
- Break and enter
- Forcible confinement
- Uttering threats to cause bodily harm
- Overcome resistance to offence/attempt to choke
- Breach of probation
Police said he and the teen lived in the same building but didn’t know each other.
