The 35th edition of Winterlude is officially underway after an opening ceremony at Ottawa City Hall that featured a DJ dance party, Beavertails, skating on the Rink of Dreams and more.
The National Capital Commission opened the entire stretch of the Rideau Canal Skateway in time for the official launch Friday night.
Crystal Garden at Confederation Park opened to the public Friday morning.
Safety concerns and weather conditions, however, have forced the NCC to delay the opening of the Snowflake Kingdom in Jacques-Cartier Park until Feb. 2 at 9 a.m.
Winterlude wraps up on Feb. 18.
