Ottawa Police have arrested 16 men and laid 10 criminal charges after a two-day prostitution sweep in Vanier.

Police said 12 of the men qualified to participate in “John” school, an educational program meant to teach the men about how prostitution affects the community.

Four men were charged with a variety of offences including communicating for the purpose of prostitution, mischief and solicitation.

Two men were also charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and for driving a motor vehicle while disqualified.

In all, police laid 10 criminal charges and five provincial charges.
