OTTAWA -- Thirteen new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Ottawa, the 12th straight day with a double-digit increase in novel coronavirus cases in the capital.
The Ontario Ministry of Health announced 76 new cases of COVID-19 in Ontario on Wednesday, including 13 in Ottawa.
Since the first case of COVID-19 in Ottawa on March 11, there are 2,481 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa, including 264 deaths.
No new deaths were announced by the health unit on Wednesday.
There are 10 people being treated in hospital for COVID-19 related illnesses, including four in the intensive care unit.
Active cases of COVID-19
Ottawa Public Health reports 269 active cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa.
A total of 1,948 people have recovered after testing positive for COVID-19.

- 0-9 years old: One new case (68 cases total)
- 10-19 years-old: Three new cases (123 cases total)
- 20-29 years-old: Two new cases (384 cases total)
- 30-39 years-old: One new case (323 cases total)
- 40-49 years-old: One new case (328 cases total)
- 50-59 years-old: Two new cases (339 cases total)
- 60-69-years-old: Two new cases (256 cases total)
- 70-79 years-old: Zero new cases (188 cases total)
- 80-89 years-old: One new case (275 cases total)
- 90+ years: Zero new cases (197 cases total)
COVID-19 outbreaks in Ottawa
Ottawa Public Health reports two new COVID-19 outbreaks at long-term care homes and retirement homes in Ottawa.
A staff member at St .Patrick's Home has tested positive for COVID-19. This is the second COVID-19 outbreak at the long-term care home.
A COVID-19 outbreak has also been declared at Waterford Retirement Home. A staff member has tested positive for COVID-19.
COVID-19 in Ottawa this month
Ottawa Public Health has reported 387 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa in July.
In June, there were 132 total cases of COVID-19 in the capital.
Ottawa Public Health says a handful of indoor gatherings are the reason for the recent spike in COVID-19 cases. At least one party was linked to eight to ten new cases of COVID-19.
Ontario cases of COVID-19
For the first time since the end of March, Ontario recorded fewer than 100 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.
A total of 76 new infections of novel coronavirus were announced.
There were 85 confirmed cases on March 24, the last day there were fewer than 100 new infections in Ontario.
