Ottawa Fire Services responded to a residential structure fire at 2333 Glandriel Cres. around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Upon arrival they confirmed a working fire at a semi-detached home. Officials say the fire was visible from the garage, up to the roof area of the home. The occupants had already evacuated.
Neighbours say the residents at 2333 Glandier Cres. were in their backyard having tea when they became aware of the fire.
A husband and wife who live across the street say they saw the flames and rushed to the unit next door at 2335 Glandlier Cres. to let the male in that home know about the fire.
Fire services say there are no injuries; however, 8 people were displaced in the fire.
Estimated damages are approximately $800,000 to the unit of origin at 2333 and unit next door at 2335 combined.
Fire services are investigating.
