A 27-year-old Akwesasne woman is charged with possessing contraband cigarettes after being stopped on Highway 401 for erratic driving on Saturday.
An OPP officer stopped a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu and saw clear resealable bags of cigarettes inside. The RCMP were called, and they seized 1,000 bags believed to have been smuggled from the United States.
The car was also seized.
The suspect will appear in Alexandria court on June 3.
