An Ottawa tow truck driver has been charged with stunt driving after police say he tailed first responders to be the first to a crash scene.

The incident occured Friday night along Tenth Line Road.

Ottawa police Sgt. John Kiss  say the tow truck driver ended up at a collision scene at Prestwick and Innes where he "tried to solicit business from  the injured driver".

Police are reminding the public  that tow truck operators are not allowed to come within 100 metres of a collision scene.  It is illegal for them to solicit business.

Charged with racing a vehicle, following too close and failing to surrender his licence, is 30 year old Amado Wehbe.

Wehbe's licence has been suspended for 7 days and his tow truck impounded.
