Three separate fires in three different parts of the city were extinguished in three-and-a-half hours overnight.

Ottawa fire crews said they were called to a deck fire at 4 Waterford Way near the Ottawa International Airport around 10:10 p.m. Monday.

They said they were able to put out what was possibly a barbeque fire before it caused more than $6,000 damage.

The second, electrical fire ripped through Willy’s Pizza on McEwan Avenue in west Ottawa around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Fire crews said it caused an estimated $15,000 damage to the building (including smoke damage to nearby stores) and $70,000 to the contents.

The third fire was the only one that caused an injury, breaking out around 1:45 a.m. at 18 Elliot Avenue near Lansdowne Park.

When fire crews arrived they said they found a smouldering mattress and someone suffering from smoke inhalation.

Crews are still investigating and there is no dollar loss estimate just yet.
