It’s Halloween night and the city is hopping

with people doing last-minute Halloween shopping.

They want to wear costumes. They know that they should.

“I’m just trying some on to see if they look good,” (says a woman in a pumpkin mask.)

As Halloween nears the mood is electric.

At Halloween Alley “Yeah, it’s been pretty hectic.”

And Halloween on a Friday means more people spend.

“There’s going to be parties… into the weekend,” (says Madeleine Oreziak of Halloween Alley,)

So procrastinators are forced to pick up the pace.

It’s enough to give some people a scary long face.

But not everyone’s shopping due to procrastination.

One customer saved “30% off decorations.”

Some shoppers had last-minute candy to buy.

Last-minute, says one man, because “I’m a guy.”

Others took a little more time to prepare.

One hairdresser dressed up just to cut hair.

He dressed as a pirate, and his clients were on board

because he still used scissors instead of a sword!

Some little ones also got a Halloween head-start

donning their costumes and face-painted art.

For them getting dressed up today is just dandy.

As one put it, “Um, because I get candy.”

People are busy, no matter the reason,

spending their money this Halloween season.

And when it’s all over and you can finally stop running

Take a deep breath

because Christmas is coming!
