Teen suffers serious injuries in south Ottawa crash

A 17-year-old girl suffered serious injuries this morning when her car collided with a tractor trailer in South Ottawa.
Ottawa fire services say it took nearly half hour to cut the young woman from her Toyota Echo shortly before 9 a.m.on Bank Street South at Snake Island Rd.
She was the only person in the vehicle, and trapped from the torso down.
Fire rescue crews had to cut the roof of her car and remove all 4 doors to remove the teen from the wreckage.
She was transported to hospital with a head injury and a broken leg.
No other injuries were reported.
Ottawa police are investigating the crash.
