Ontario’s high school teacher’s union says it hopes agreements reached with two individual boards can serve as a template across the province.

Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) president Ken Coran said deals had been reached with the Upper Grand District School Board and York Region District School Board to end job action by their teachers.

No details on the tentative agreement with those central Ontario boards were provided in Coran’s memo.

Arrangements for members to vote on the deals were being made and will happen once final details are worked out with the province.

Coran said bargaining with other school boards will continue over the weekend.

Job action, which includes delaying report cards and only supervising students inside the classroom, began in Ottawa earlier this week.
