Ottawa Police have a 21-year-old man in custody after an overnight stabbing outside a Centretown hotel.
A 28-year-old man was stabbed multiple times during an altercation on Cartier Street just after 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2014.
He was taken to hospital in serious condition.
Police say they arrested the suspect a short time later near the Rideau Canal.
There is no word yet on any charges. The Major Crime Section took carriage of the investigation due to the initial serious nature of the injuries and will continue with the investigation.
The victim remains in hospital in stable condition.
