The Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario has advised the Renfrew County District Board it will take strike action Thursday. The Board, as a result, will close its elementary schools on that day.

The Teachers Union gave its 72 hour notice this morning.

It’s expected that every public school board in Ontario will experience a one-day walkout before December 21st, when classes end of the Christmas Break.  Elementary teachers with the Ottawa Carleton District School Board will stage their walkout on Wednesday.

Elementary schools closed Thursday due to ETFO one day strike

Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, RENFREW COUNTY – Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario (ETFO) has advised the Renfrew County District School board that a one-day walk-out will take place across our district on Thursday, Dec.13, 2012.

All elementary schools will be closed to students on that day. Parents should make alternate childcare arrangements for the day as elementary students will not be able to attend school. There will be no elementary school bus service.

Secondary schools will be open on that day and secondary students are expected to attend school.
