The Ottawa Senators came up short again losing to the New York Rangers 3-2 in overtime.

After a scoreless first period, the Rangers open the scoring in the 2nd period as Kevin Hayes beats Craig Anderson with the rebound. The Senators respond with 2 quick goals. Kyle Turris sets up Erik Karlsson to tie the game at one. Just over a minute later the Senators take the lead as Alex Chiasson throws it at the net, Milan Michalek pops in the rebound on the power play for a 2-1 lead.

The Rangers tie it up early in the 3rd period as Chris Kreider finishes off a nice passing play.

The Rangers almost win it in the dying seconds of regulation as the puck goes off the post.

It would be forced into overtime as Derek Stepan turns around with the blinded pass to Carl Hagelin who redirects it in for the game winner. The Senators have lost 2 straight.

The Senators host the Toronto Maple Leafs tomorrow night.
