It was another thrilling game for the Ottawa Senators as they fell short 3-2 in a shootout in Minnesota.

The Ottawa Senators were looking to keep their winning streak alive as they visited the Minnesota Wild in their 4th game of a 5 game road trip.

Rookie Senators goalie Andrew Hammond, making his 6th straight start. Craig Anderson playing back up to Hammond as the Senators try to narrow the gap in their attempt to make the playoffs.

Hammond would once again be sharp in the first period, making some impressive saves keeping the game scoreless.

Early in the 2nd period, the Wild take advantage of a turnover by Erik Karlsson as Matt Dumba opens the scoring for a 1-0 lead.

Dumba would score his 2nd straight goal giving Minnesota a 2-0 lead but the Senators answer right back. Just 30 seconds later it’s Mika Zibanejad who scores his 16th of the season to trail 2-1. Three minutes later, Mike Hoffman feeds it to Bobby Ryan to tie it at 2-2.

That’s how it would stand after regulation. It would be settled in a shootout with Charlie Coyle firing the wrister for the game winner. Hammond with an impressive performance making 36 saves. The Wild snap the Senators 5 game winning streak.

The Senators wrap up their road trip in Winnipeg tomorrow night.
