Police in the Outaouais say a lack of suspects and evidence have stalled a sexual assault investigation into the 'Spookland' Halloween party.

MRC des Collines began their investigation following three separate allegations of sexual assault at the Spookland Halloween party in Cantley, Quebec, on Oct. 31, 2014.

The party, intended for students ages 16 to 21, was attended by about 1,000 people. According to the event’s Facebook page, the party featured five DJs, three dance floors, and a licensed area for those 18-years-old and over.

Following the event, two young girls told police they had been the victims of inappropriate touching. A third victim, a 16-year-old girl, was found partially clothed, intoxicated, and unconscious.

On Tuesday, MRC Des Collines said tests revealed the young girl had not been the victim of a rape, though they said she may have been the victim of inappropriate touching.

“At this time, it is impossible to identify the perpetrators of these criminal acts, and this (is) due to insufficient information,” police said in a media release.

Anyone having information is asked to contact Sergeant-Detective Patrick Tremblay at 819-459-2422 – extension 3286.
