Hundreds of snowmobile enthusiasts bundled up for a historic weekend at the Cornwall Motor Speedway. They were there for the first ever Pro Racing Circuit tour in the Seaway City.

The three-day event drew hundreds of fans and dozens of drivers eager to display their skills and speed on the track.

“It's fast, the adrenaline is instant,” said Circuit Pro Tour President George Samson.

Staff spent weeks preparing the track for the winter event. Drivers are racing on 18 inches of ice.

“It's great to see the racing fans have something in the winter, they don't have to wait for summer,” said Martin Lavergne, whose family owns the Cornwall Motor Speedway.

Drivers taking part range from rookies to veterans.

Cornwall is the first stop on the Eastern Pro Tour schedule. It goes on for six weeks.

Organizers hope to make the event an annual event in Cornwall.
