Do you smile a lot? Do you feel good about yourself and the world around you?

If this sounds like you, a new report suggests you might be Canadian.

The Centre for the Study of Living Standards says Canada is the second happiest country in the world.

The report found more than 90 per cent of Canadians surveyed report they are either satisfied or very satisfied with their lives.

The survey collected data between 2003 and 2011.

It found younger Canadians are generally happier than older ones, and residents of Nova Scotia, Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador were most likely to be happy with their lives.

In Ottawa, bartender Robin Rulli says most people who frequent the bar where she works are happy.

" Everybody has their own problems obviously but people come in here to relax and get away from their problems and it seems to work out quite well for them,” she said. “Everybody seems to leave happy whether they come in a good mood or not."

It’s believed the happiest country on earth is Denmark.

Rune Hjorth, a Dane student studying in Ottawa says Denmark’s social system gives every one a chance to do well.

But he says it’s the simple things that make him happy.

“I like cooking. I like eating. I like drinking and that is true it makes me happy,” Hjorth said.  “I don't know if that's a general thing. I guess it is."

Satisfaction scores were lowest in British Columbia, Ontario and Nunavut.
