Thousands of protestors are marching through downtown Ottawa Thursday afternoon leading to multiple road closures.

The protest is organized by the People's Social Forum, a massive gathering of unions and social movements in a battle against the Harper government.

The protestors heading towards Parliament Hill from three areas, Jacques-Cartier Park in Gatineau, Victoria Island and the Canadian War Museum.

Rolling closures affected the Alexandra Bridge, the Booth and Wellington intersection and  the Chaudiere Bridge starting at 2.30 p.m.

Wellington Street is closed as marchers approach Parliament Hill.

Police are also warning the public about a late afternoon traffic snarl during the supper hour when the protestors leave Parliament Hill.

The People's Social Forum will be held in Ottawa over the next four days.
