Ottawa Police are looking for help identifying a person of interest they believe involved in the so-called "Granny Scam."

In this case, it was an elderly man who was defrauded of money.  On August 7th, he got a phone call, saying that his grandson was in trouble and needed financial help.  The suspect drove him to the bank to withdraw funds.   The bank's surveillance camera captured the incident, including one photo that clearly shows the elderly man’s walker off to the side, while he and an unidentified individual talk to a bank employee to take out money.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Martin Cardinal at 613-236-1222 ext 5781 or Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477 (1-800-233-8477).
