Ottawa Police have identified the victim of Ottawa's second homicide of the year after a shooting inside a restaurant in the west end Sunday evening.

20-year-old Marwan Arab of Ottawa was shot and killed following what police are calling a dispute.

They were called to Cobden Road near Iris Street around 5:30 p.m.

Police say  another man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. On Monday afternoon, the 22-year-old was in hospital in stable condition.

"Now you can imagine with the crime scene like this and the amount of witnesses it will take quite some time to determine exactly what has happened and to establish any suspect information," said Duty Insp. Sean McDade on Sunday.

Investigators have determined the shooting was not random. But they don't know yet if it was a gang-related shooting.

Police do not have anyone in custody, and so far have no suspect description.

If you have information you're asked to call the Major Crime Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
