It was a busy night shift for Ottawa Paramedics who responded to four separate crashes overnight Saturday sending several people to hospital with moderate to serious injuries.

The first collision happened on Roger Stevens Drive at Dwyer Hill Road around 6:15 p.m. Saturday night. Paramedics say four patients, including a child, were treated for their injuries following a multiple vehicle collision.

A nine-year-old girl was sent to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario with serious injuries. Her father, whose age was not released, was transported with the girl.

A 24-year-old male and a 19-year-old female were also treated for minor to moderate injuries. 

Ornge Air was called in to transport a 47-year-old with closed head and severe chest wall injuries to the Ottawa Hospital Trauma Unit.

Then, around 1:15 a.m. Sunday, a 52-year-old was ejected from his motorcycle after he was hit by a car. The man's bike was destroyed in the crash. Paramedics say the man suffered serious injuries. He is in stable condition in hospital.

The third collision happened around 4 a.m. at St. Laurent and Ogilvie. Paramedics say a car veered off the road and into a light post. The car's front, side and curtain airbags all deployed. Two 19-year-olds suffered minor injuries, but only one was take to the hospital.

On Sunday morning, an 18-year-old woman was rushed to the trauma centre in critical condition after a collision in Orleans. The two car crash happened on Viseneau Drive at Bromont Way around 6:30 a.m. Ottawa Fire used the jaws of life to rescue the woman from her vehicle. A second person was assessed for injuries at the scene but was not taken to hospital.
