Ottawa Police say the 53-year-old woman killed in a west Ottawa fire last week died of smoke inhalation.
Lucie Goudreau's body was found inside the bedroom of her Woodridge Crescent apartment after last Tuesday's Bayshore area fire.
Her son, Rene Goudreau, has been charged with first-degree murder in her death.
Goudreau's death is Ottawa's sixth homicide of the year.
