For many Ottawa taxpayers, March Madness means the release of the so-called Sunshine List which reveals the salaries of all public servants who earn more than 100 thousand dollars.
Dr. Jack Kitts, President of the Ottawa Hospital, is again the top earner with a salary of $630 thousand and 70 thousand in taxable benefits.
At Ottawa City Hall, City Manager Kent Kirkpatrick is top earner at $343 thousand.
Dr. Isra Levy, the Medical Officer of Health, took home a paycheque of $309 thousand.
There are 1,189 City of Ottawa employees on the list this year.
The city says 60 per cent of those are first responsders such as police and paramedics.
Police Chief Charles Bordeleau earned $ 209 thousand dollars.
