We’re number one!

Or number two… or number seven, depending on which list you’re looking at.

MoneySense Magazine released its annual ranking of Canadian cities based on their quality of life.

This year Ottawa was ranked the best place to live of all large and medium cities in the country.

Overall, Ottawa ranked second of the 209 municipalities on the list this year.

The small Montreal suburb of Bourcherville edged out the capital for the overall title.

Ottawa was also ranked the number one city in Canada to retire in.

When it comes to the best place to raise children, Ottawa placed seventh overall.

MoneySense looked at several factors in compiling the list, including household income, housing prices, taxes, unemployment, access to health care, arts and sports, and more.
