An Ottawa woman got a terrible shock reaching into her box of Timbits yesterday.

She found a clear capsule containing a brownish powder among her mini-doughnuts.

A spokesperson for Tim Hortons released this statement:

“We are taking this very seriously and the matter is currently under investigation.  The safety of our guests is of utmost importance to us and as such, we have significant control measures in place to assure their well-being.”

Ottawa Public Health is also investigating the matter to make sure public safety wasn't jeopardized.

The Timbits were purchased Wednesday from the Tim Hortons at the corner of Bank and Cooper.

The capsule may have to be tested to determine if it contains a dangerous substance.
