OTTAWA - The Ottawa Police Robbery Unit is investigating the violent robbery of a delivery driver.

On April 3, 2014, at approximately 11:25 p.m., a pizza delivery employee was attempting to make a delivery along the 2100 block of Elmira Dr.  When the driver was turned away at the address, and was returning to his vehicle, he was approached by a lone male suspect armed with a handgun.  The suspect repeatedly pointed the gun at the victim and made a demand for cash, as well as his cellular phone.  After obtaining the victim's phone, the suspect then searched the victim for cash.  The suspect made multiple demands until the victim turned over an undisclosed quantity of cash.  The suspect then also took the food items and the thermal bag containing them.  There were no injuries.

The suspect is described as being a black male, 25-30 years, approximately 5'8" (173cm), having a round face.  The suspect was wearing a dark coloured jacket and a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head.  No images are available.
