An Ottawa man has been found guilty of attempted murder by having unprotected sex while HIV-positive and not telling his partners.

Steven Boone yelled and sobbed as he was led out of Ottawa court Wednesday after being found guilty of three counts each of attempted murder, spreading a noxious substance and aggravated sexual assault.

The jury said Crown prosecutors had proved there was intent to murder the three men he had unprotected sex with.

Boone’s sentencing date is unknown because he is going to trial again Nov. 13 for a related, but separate incident.
