Ontario's Ministry of Labour is investigating a workplace death at an Ottawa Catholic Board high school.
Maintenance worker Luc Charron died Friday afternoon while working at the St. Nicholas Adult High School, West.
Paramedics say they received a call from someone at the school around 12:30 saying a man had fallen outside and he had no vital signs.
Paramedics were not able to revive him.
Charron was operating a machine called an aerial lift when he fell and suffered a serious head injury. He was pronounced dead in Hospital.
The Ottawa Catholc School Board has been ordered by the Ministry of Labour to comply with two orders; to ensure equipment is moved in a safe manner, and to ensure the area of work is clear of ice and snow.
It's not clear what exactly caused Charron to fall.
The OCSB says counselling support is available for Charron's co-workers, friends, staff and the adult students.
An investigator for the Ministry of Labour is looking into the cause. The investigation could take up to one year to complete.
