BRANTFORD, Ont. -- A 25-year-old driver has been charged after allegedly blowing pot smoke into an officer's face in Brantford, Ont.

Police say they were conducting an impaired driving program on Wednesday night when they stopped the man around 8:20 p.m.

They say the man partially rolled down his window and didn't respond to questions about drinking alcohol.

Brantford police say they could smell marijuana and saw a "green leafy substance" they believed to be weed on the centre console of the car.

They say they asked the driver to roll the window down further, at which point the man allegedly exhaled a large cloud of smoke into the face of the officer.

The man was then charged with possession of a controlled substance.
