The Easter bunny was busy on Saturday making stops around the city.

He was dropping off colourful eggs at Billings Estate Museum from 10a.m. until 4p.m. for the annual Easter egg hunt. Little ones could then trade in the plastic eggs they collected for chocolate treats. Other activities on site included face painting, egg dying, and arts and crafts.

Over at the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum hundreds gathered on Saturday for the annual Easter traditions there. From 10a.m. until 4p.m. guests were invited to celebrate the arrival of spring with the Easter bunny. On site there was storytelling, photoshoots, Easter crafts, a petting zoo and pony rides.

Meanwhile a real bunny was stealing the show at Agricultural Museum’s Easter petting zoo.  After a long winter, the barns have come alive with the arrival of newborn animals. Visitors are welcome at the museum from Good Friday through to Easter Monday.

On Sunday, services will be held at the Notre Dame Basilicathroughout the day, starting with a bilingual service at 9 a.m., in French at 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., and in English at noon and 7:30 p.m.

As well as Easter brunch at the Chateau Laurier starting at 10a.m.  

WEEKEND CLOSURES:

Malls, grocery stores, and LCBO and Beer stores are closed on Friday and Sunday.

Friday garbage pick-up will be on Saturday, Monday's pick up delayed one day.

Business as usual on Saturday.

The ByWard Market will remain open all weekend.

Many businesses and government offices will be closed for the Easter long weekend.

Many stores and malls in Gatineau will be open Good Friday, but closed on Easter Sunday.

Business will return to normal for most places by Easter Monday, though some stores will  have revised hours.

All City of Ottawa parking regulations and restrictions will apply during this time.

OC Transpo will operate a Sunday schedule on Good Friday. On Easter Monday there will be minor schedule reductions and school routes numbered in the 600s and supplementary school trips will not be in operation.

Weather permitting, the Sens Rink of Dreams at City Hall and Skating Court at Lansdowne Park will be open.

Some pools, fitness centres and some arenas will be open on Good Friday and Easter Monday with modified schedules for public swimming, skating and fitness classes. Most pools, fitness centres and arenas will be open on Saturday and Easter Sunday. Please check with ottawa.ca or the facility of your choice for details.
