The North American Leaders` Summit will close majoy downtown streets to drivers.

Drivers in Ottawa will find it hard to get around downtown Wednesday.

U.S. President Barack Obama and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto will be in the capital to take part in the North American Leaders' summit with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Many key downtown roads will be closed to traffic.

Among them: Sussex from Daly to Boteler, Wellington and Rideau from Lyon to Dalhousie and the Alexandra Bridge.

Shutdowns in the Byward Market are set to last from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.. Around Parliament Hill, it's 8 a.m. to 8 p.m..

There will also be temporary closures around the Ottawa Airport.

But it won`t just be hard to navigate downtown by car.

The Rideau Canal will be off-limits from the Bronson Bridge to the Ottawa Locks for most of the day Wednesday

Mooring or or anchoring boats along the Canal between Bronson and the Ottawa Locks is off limits. The restriction will be in place until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Exceptions will be made for boats briefly mooring on Tuesday if they're waiting to use the Locks, but on Wednesday, that entire stretch of the Canal will be off-limits to mooring, anchoring, and navigation.

There will also be an exclusion zone on the Ottawa River near Parliament Hill.
