The lockout has been tough on fans.  It has been hard too on players who would rather be playing games.  About a half dozen NHL players have been skating regularly with the Carleton University men’s team.

Ottawa Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson says the pace is good and it is good preparation for an NHL season, if there is a season.  Alfredsson remains cautious about getting his hopes up for what could be his last NHL season.  He turns 40 in a few days and says he is in the best shape of his life while he waits for news about any developments on the labour front.

Among others skating with Carleton, Senators forwards Peter Regin and Chris Neil, Bruins forward Chris Kelly, Winnipeg defenceman Grant Clitsome and former Ottawa Senator  and 67 Brendan Bell.
