Thousands of students are moving into their residence rooms at Carleton University this week.

As they pull up, they are greeted by upper year students cheering them on.

“We move them in and we show them a good time, we show them everything Carleton has to offer from clubs, classes and everything else,” said Stephan Tzolov, a returning student.

For many new students the day is bittersweet.

“It’s just a mix of everything, it’s sad to say goodbye, but exciting to have a fresh start,” said Sarah Owen from Toronto.

University representatives said 3500 students are moving into their residence rooms over the weekend.

Upper year students were on site Saturday helping new students move in. They will be back Sunday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Fall Orientation at Carleton will begin Sunday, August 30th and run until Saturday, September 5th.
