There's a new player in Ottawa's grocery store scene.

Whole Foods Market opens its new location at Lansdowne Park Wednesday morning.

The 41,000 square foot food store includes a cafe & a prepared food section.

It will employ 165 people.

Whole Foods, founded in 1980, is a supermarket chain specializing in natural and organic foods.

In May 2013, the company's co-CEO revealed that Whole Foods wanted to open an addition 40 stores in Canada.  It currently operated 9 locations in Vancouver and Toronto.
