As many prepare for a long weekend of family, turkey and pumpkin pie, here’s what’s open and closed in the Capital on Thanksgiving:

Metro, Food Basics, Your Independent Grocer, and Loblaws locations in Ottawa will be closed on Monday, Oct. 12, with the exception of the Metro and Loblaws on Rideau St. Both will remain open 24 hours on Thanksgiving Monday.

The Rideau Centre will be open on Monday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Bayshore, Hazeldean Mall, Place D’Orleans and the St. Laurent Mall are all closed on Monday.

All LCBO and Beer store locations in Ottawa will be closed on Thanksgiving Monday.

The Wine Rack on Elgin St., Rideau St., and in the ByWard Market will be open on Monday.

The ByWard Market is open all weekend, including on Thanksgiving Monday,

Most ByWard Market restaurants, boutiques, outdoor vendors and services will be open through the long weekend.

The Museum of Nature, the Canadian War Museum, the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum and the National Gallery of Canada are open on Monday, Oct. 12. The Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau is also open on Monday.

City Hall and city client service centres are closed on Monday.

There will be no curbside green bin, garbage, or recycling collection on Thanksgiving Monday.

OC Transpo will operate on a Sunday schedule.

City operated daycares will be closed on Monday, as will all branches of the Ottawa Public Library.
