The Ottawa Senators put on an impressive show against the league leading Anaheim Ducks cruising to a 6-2 victory.

The Ottawa Senators got off to a great start. Just 2 minutes into the game Milan Michalek scores his 3rd goal of the season. Just the 3rd shot on net by the Senators goes in as Mark Stone buries the rebound. Ottawa  would lead  2-0 after one despite being outshot 12-7 by Anaheim after one.

The Senators follow up the first period with an impressive 2nd period. Late in the 2nd period, Kyle Turris scores a highlight reel goal scoring shorthanded giving the Senators a 3-0 lead. Just 20 seconds later Mike Hoffman wires it past Ilya Bryzgalov for a 4-0 lead. The Ducks would ruin Anderson’s shutout attempt late in the period as Ryan Getzlaf scores his 11th goal of the season to trail 4-1.

Getzlaf wasn’t done, less than 2 minutes into the 3rd period the Ducks captain, cuts in for his 2nd goal of the game to trail 4-2. The Senators would get that back as Bobby Ryan feeds it to Hoffman for his 2nd goal of the game, his team leading 10th goal of the season. Mika Zibanejad rounded out the scoring for a 6-2 final.

The Senators win their 2nd straight game. It’s their first winning streak since early November. The Senators are in Montreal tomorrow night.
