The Ottawa Senators snapped a 2 game losing streak as they beat Columbus 5-2.

The Senators were out shot 14-5 and were outplayed by the Blue Jackets in the first period. Clarke MacArthur managed to tie it at one after one period.

The Senators dominated the remainder of the game. After Zack Smith gave Ottawa at 2-1 lead, Eric Gryba was handed a 5 minute major for his elbow on Artem Anisimov. The Blue Jackets centre didn't return to the game.

The game was tied at 2-2 heading into the 3rd period. The Senators responded with 3 straight goals by Erik Karlsson, Alex Chiasson, and MacArthur's 2nd goal of the game giving Ottawa a 5-2 victory.

Blue Jackets winger Corey Tropp was also handed a 5 minute major for a hit from behind on Senators defenceman Mark Borowiecki. Borowiecki didn't return.

Robin Lehner made 36 saves for the victory. The Senators next host the Chicago Blackhawks Thursday night.
