Ottawa Senators head coach Dave Cameron will have a familiar face join him behind the bench this season.

Andre Tourigny was named assistant head coach by the Senators on Friday, the NHL team announced in a release.

Tourigny, 41, spent the last two seasons as an assistant to Avalanche coach Patrick Roy.

A native of Trois-Rivieres, Que., Tourigny spent 11 seasons as head coach and general manager of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Rouyn-Noranda Huskies prior to his arrival in Colorado.

Tourigny served as an assistant coach for Team Canada at the 2010, 2011 and 2013 IIHF world junior championship.

He helped the national junior team win silver in 2010 and 2011 while working with Cameron.
