The province’s Special Investigations Unit has been called in to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a 52-year-old man who fell from a balcony in Ottawa's west end Saturday afternoon.
The SIU says police responded to an apartment building at 1300 McWatters Road around 12:45 p.m. and knocked on the door of a unit.
The SIU says a short time later a man fell from the unit’s balcony and was later pronounced dead.
Four investigators and two forensic investigators have been assigned to the case.
The SIU is called in to investigate reports involving police when there has been a death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
