Ottawa will host Canada’s largest men’s curling championships in 2016.

The Canadian Curling Association officially announced  Thursday that TD Place will be the home of the 2016 Tim Hortons Brier from March 5th to 13th 2016.

The Brier was last held in the nation’s capital in 2001.

Ottawa also hosted the Brier in 1993 and 1979.

“Ever since the building renovations started at TD Place, we’ve been wanting to put a major event there, and the Tim Hortons Brier will be a perfect showcase,” said CEO of the Canadian Curling Association Greg Stremlaw in a press release.

The tournament will see 12 teams, including the 2015 Brier champions, compete to be named the top men’s team in the country.

The other eleven squads will be provincial and territorial teams.

Tim Hortons began sponsoring the Brier in 2005 and will continue until 2018.
