Ottawa police say they have laid 181 charges against an Ottawa man accused of cyber bullying or harassing people across Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Police say 42-year-old Robert Campbell was arrested and charged yesterday after an eight-month investigation called “Project Winter.”

Campbell allegedly used internet anonymity software to harass, defame and steal the identities of dozens of people.

Police say there are a total of 38 victims; 18 of them live in Ottawa.

The investigation included help from the RCMP and Vancouver Police.

Ottawa police urge people to report these crimes as they are not taken lightly.

Campbell is to appear in an Ottawa courtroom today.
