Ottawa Fury FC defeated the Jacksonville Armada 2-0 today at the fall season home opener. Following the excitement at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015, the Fury hope to keep the soccer momentum alive the Capital.

“I think that is going to help us. It was a great soccer experience and hopefully the fans in Ottawa are going to want more of it,” says John Pugh, Ottawa Fury FC President.  

The Fury sold 6,150 tickets for today’s match, a record high for them this year.

Pugh says with a new face on the team, they hope to keep the games as exciting as possible.

“Aly Hassan from the Fort Lauderdale Strikers has joined us, he can’t play today, the international transfer window opens on Monday and he’ll be with us from that point on and we’re really looking forward to a great season and putting some balls in the back of the net for a great crowd,” says Pugh.
