A Pembroke dentist has been found guilty of impaired driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death following a fatal crash along Highway 17 in March 2011.

Ontario Court Justice Neil Kozloff ruled that Dr. Christy Natsis of Pembroke was within Bryan Casey's lane and did not brake or slow down before smashing into his vehicle.

Casey, a 50-year-old father of three, was driving home from work in Chalk River when his car was hit.

Justice Kozloff found Natsis not guilty of having a blood level exceeding the legal limit. Breath samples, that were ultimately excluded from the trial, showed that Natsis had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit.

A pre-sentencing date has been set for June 10.
